Welcome to Freshwalks and for our latest Women in Property collaboration event, we're heading to Lancashire to take on the legendary Pendle Hill from the nearby Ribble Valley village of Sabden.
Route: Sabden - Nick of Pendle - Pendle Hill - Ogden Clough - Sabden
Grade: Hard Distance: 13.5km Max elevation: 557m Total ascent: 438m
Public transport: Challenging but possible. Please take the 08:44 train from Manchester Victoria calling at Bolton 09:04 and Blackburn 09:35 to arrive in Whalley 09:52 which is the nearest station. It's then approx. 10 mins taxi transfer to Sabden. Please pre-book and/or we can help co-ordinate lifts or taxi sharing.
Parking: There is a small car park in Sabden and limited on-street parking across the village. Please park considerately and consider car-share and lifts where possible with other walkers.
Public toilets: There are public toilets in Sabden at the start of the walk.
Picnic stop: Subject to weather, we plan to stop somewhere appropriate on Pendle Hill for a brief picnic lunch stop, (please bring your own picnic).
Dogs: Welcome but ought to be kept on leads for the duration of the hike. Please note that this route isn't suitable for every dog and if you aren't familiar with the terrain yourself then it might be wise to leave your canine companion at home this time.
Meeting location: Please gather outside The White Hart public house from 10:00
The walk will start at 10:15.
We should return to The White Hart, Sabden between 14:45 and 15:00 subject to group size and weather.
Members and non-members are welcome.
