Monsal Trail (Blackwell Mill end). Wyedale Car Park, A6, Buxton, SK17 9TE
All event fees are listed net of VAT.
Welcome to a brand-new net-cycling event, hosted by Lauren Mollart (Hydrock), a chartered geologist, Ride Leader and member of Women in Property. Come join me and share my passion of the outdoors and group cycling on a traffic free and hill free trail.
We will be heading along the Monsal Trail, a disused railway line closed in 1968 and converted in 2010-2011 into a new traffic-free cycle track, allowing people to cycle from Blackwell Mill, Nr.Buxton to Bakewell. The eight and half mile trail follows the river Wye, taking you through several newly opened lit tunnels, between steep gorges, surrounding limestone hills and across the spectacular Monsal Dale viaduct making this an exceptional cycling experience.
With a maximum distance of 16miles (with options to turn back sooner), this ride is suitable for those new to group cycling - no one gets left behind.
There are various pubs and cafes along the route to stop for breaks and lunch - Lunch money is required.
A full information pack will be sent out the week before the ride, but you'll need to bring drinking water, wear appropriate footwear (trainers/bike shoes) and clothing (e.g. sports clothes - nothing too loose to get trapped in the bike and take a layered approach including waterproofs if the weather is looking wet). A helmet is also required. All bikes are suitable along this trail (road bikes, mountain bikes, ebikes, trikes etc.).
Maximum group size is 10, so register ASAP to get your place.
The booking deadline for this event has now passed.
