Outreach Programme

Women in Property is proud of our commitment to encourage girls and young women to consider a career in property and construction.  They are our future professionals and it is they who will help correct the imbalance and improve diversity in the industry.

Here are some examples of our Outreach programme:-

  • Our 'The Future of Property Careers' event held in partnership with Charles Russell Speechlys in June 2021

  • Ladies Bridge, London. For several years, the South East branch has organised a fantastic introduction for year eight students (age 12–13) to the built environment and the work of the property industry, at the Ladies Bridge – Waterloo Bridge – construction of which was undertaken by a work force made up predominantly of women during WWII. Working with Lilian Baylis School, Lambeth, some 120 year eight students together with volunteers from a rounded group of property professionals, visit the bridge looking out for decks, piers, expansion joints and stress points.  Not only do they get an insight into how a bridge is constructed, the visit also highlights the many opportunities that the built environment has to offer, be it architecture, planning, chartered surveying, engineering, project management or, of course, the many other disciplines that are needed to build a city.
  • Speed Interviewing & CV Workshops at University of Westminster, Greenwich and London South Bank
