Following Women in Property's landmark Building Balance survey, this event brings together industry leaders, practitioners, and changemakers to explore how we can create a more inclusive, equitable, and sustainable built environment sector.
The survey highlighted ongoing challenges around workplace culture, career progression, flexibility and inclusion. Without meaningful action, our industry risks losing talented people, perpetuating inequalities and failing to reflect the diverse communities we design and build for.
Join us to hear key insights from the survey, learn from lived experiences and take part in a facilitated discussion exploring the question:
What stands between us and a balanced working life?
The session will begin with an introduction from Urbanistas, a female-led network committed to shaping cities and places that are more equitable, inclusive and representative of the communities they serve. Drawing on insights from their work with RIBA and The Fawcett Society, Urbanistas will set the context for the discussion, followed by a panel conversation chaired by David Smalley, Director of Material Source.
Confirmed Speakers
This event is an opportunity to listen, learn, share experiences and contribute to a conversation about creating a more balanced, inclusive and supportive industry for everyone.
Importantly, this discussion is not solely about supporting those returning to work or those with caring responsibilities. It is about creating workplaces where all people can thrive. By retaining talented individuals and fostering diverse and inclusive cultures, we can build stronger businesses, better places, and a more resilient construction and property sector.
Members and non-members of all genders are welcome to attend.
