Kents Cavern Cheese Tasting Experience and Tour

Calling all cheese lovers!

Step into an unforgettable experience where history and flavour come together beneath the ground in ‘Britain’s oldest home’.

Your journey begins with a welcome cheese in the caves vestibule, before venturing underground for a guided tour of Kents Cavern – home to their very own cave-aged cheddar, quietly maturing in the depths. You’ll then take part in their unique blind cheese tasting in complete darkness, as featured on BBC Spotlight.

In the final chamber, there will be a talk from Alistair Powe, a member of the Powe family who cared for the caves for over 120 years before passing them on in 2023, accompanied by a cave-aged cheese tasting paired with a glass of wine.

Itinerary

• 3:30pm Arrival in the Café
• 3:45 Enter the caves Vestibule and taster of Quicks unaged cheese
• 30 minute tour of the caves
• Cave aged cheese tasting in the dark
• 4:15 Enter the final chamber for networking and talk from Alistair Powe
• Cave aged cheese tasting with a glass of wine or soft drink
• 5pm finish
