The 2017 National Student Awards have been won by Caitlin Mitchell, who studies Civil and Coastal Engineering at the University of Plymouth and is currently on a year's work placement with AECOM in Belfast.
This year has seen the highest number of contenders with 105 students nominated by their lecturers, representing 44 Universities. To win the national title, Caitlin competed against 12 other superb finalists from across the UK and was presented with her award at the Best of Best Awards Dinner, at Claridge's in September. We are now on our quest to find the 'Best of Best' 2018. The Awards process is underway with a call out to Universities across the UK to put forward their top students.
They will submit CVs and, in Spring 2018, give a presentation on a recent piece of coursework before a panel of high profile regional judges drawn from industry, higher education and including our own regional Chairmen. Each will be awarded a £300 prize and assistance in achieving a paid summer work placement next year.
They will then go head-to-head in
the national final, the winner receiving a trophy and £700 cash
prize which will be awarded at the black tie Awards Dinner to be
held at Claridge's in September 2018.
WiP is proud to have been supported by a number of the industry's most respected businesses and individuals both through involvement in the judging process and through generous sponsorship. Thank you to our 2017 National sponsors, Bouygues, Cushman & Wakefield and Linden Homes.
