Cardiff Indoor Arena Site Visit

Join Women in Property South Wales for a First Phase site visit of Cardiff Indoor Arena. This visit will be led by The Urbanists & McLaren Construction.

The Urbanists are appointed Landscape Architect’s for the Arena and coordinated the detail of the Arena with their masterplanning team working on Atlantic Wharf. The proposals for the Arena are linked into the wider longer term strategy for the area, while being simultaneously coordinated with details such as door thresholds and interception of rainwater from the building. The company worked closely with the architects to ensure that the practical and aesthetic elements of the landscape design were adding value to the overall development proposals.

McLaren Construction is constructing the new multi-purpose 16,500-capacity arena and hotel, plus surrounding landscape plaza works £250m due to open 2028. A significant milestone as Cardiff Council and the consortium comprised of Live Nation Entertainment and Robertson Property, appointed McLaren Construction as main contractor for the arena and for a neighbouring public plaza and hotel also included in the 30-acre Atlantic Wharf masterplan. McLaren’s team will include jobs for local people, including apprenticeships and work placements to help launch youngsters into construction careers.
