Whilst the new government are consulting about the best way to measure the energy efficiency of a building, landlords cannot wait for any changes in measurement methodology and need to start making plans for any works required.

Residential landlords will not be able to enter into new leases from April 25 unless their properties have either an EPC of C or above or an exemption certificate, and commercial landlords are on notice that the minimum EPC rating for their properties is expected to increase to C from April 2027, and B by April 2030.

Join us to talk sustainability, with host Heather Powell, Head of Property & Construction at Blick Rothenberg, beginning proceedings with a brief overview of the results of Blick Rothenberg's recent EPC survey and the preparations landlords are making in both the residential and commercial sector to complete the works.

Also joining us will be Vince Ruane, a Chartered Engineer and Fellow of CIBSE, and Founder and Director of RCDC. Vince will be speaking about innovation in construction, how this and the sustainability of a property are linked, the decarbonisation in the real estate sector, and showcasing one innovative ventilation solution that those retrofitting buildings may wish to consider.

There will be the opportunity to ask questions of the speakers and enter into discussions with audience members who are addressing similar issues. Refreshments and food will also be included.
