CPD Accredited Site Study: Gascoigne West phase 2 - Barking

Join Women in Property South East for a tour of Gascoigne West phase 2 in Barking, hosted by Wates and tp bennett.

Gascoigne 2 is a residential development comprising 5 blocks and 31 townhouses currently on site in Barking, East London. It is part of the larger Gascoigne Estate masterplan regeneration being overseen by Be First, the development arm of London Borough of Barking and Dagenham. tp bennett are working with Wates and Be First to deliver 3 phases of this masterplan. GW2 is due to complete early 2024 and is a great example of the use of offsite manufacture for cost and programme efficiencies as well as sustainability and H&S considerations. Pre-cast panels, bathroom pods and bolt-on balconies have been employed across the scheme. The townhouses are timber frame, reducing the embodied carbon of the development. This phase is delivering a total of 386 much-needed affordable and PRS homes for the borough.

We will meet on site for an introduction to the project and masterplan. We will then have a tour of the site and finish in a local bar where there will be the chance to network and share insights of the visit over refreshments.
