Building Tour – Royal Courts of Justice

All event fees are listed net of VAT.

Join Women in Property for a behind the scenes tour at the Grade 1 listed Royal Courts of Justice.

Summarised by Historic England in the listing as “a large, national courtroom building of 1874 to 1883 designed and built by George Edmund Street and completed by Arthur E Street and Sir Arthur Blomfield.  The building is acknowledged as one of the foremost examples of High Victorian Gothic Revival design.  Stylistically it combines C13 English and French architecture with Italian elements.”

Led by a member of the RCJ security team we will look at some of the interesting architectural features, and also how the building was designed for purpose with various separated circulatory areas giving rise to numerous entrances to any one court.

After the tour (which will last around 75 minutes), we will adjourn to the “Old Bank of England” next door to chat further about this iconic building with your fellow guests over drinks and nibbles (included in the ticket price).
