Join Women in Property North West as we kick off Construction in Housing Week with a breakfast panel event where industry experts will discuss the challenges and potential solutions with the recent changes to the Building Safety Act.
The panel will be chaired by Gwenno Jones of FEC, former chair of Women in Property North West and speakers include:
Andrea Leigh, Trowers & Hamlins
Andrea is a Senior Associate at Trowers & Hamlins specialising in construction projects and has experience advising both public and private sector clients on a wide range of projects. She advises clients throughout the lifecycle of major projects, from advising on procurement strategy through to drafting and negotiating bespoke construction contracts and associated documents and giving post-completion assistance.
Emma Richman, Peaks and Plains
Emma is our National Chair of Women in Property and is an award winning Housing Professional with a career in housing that spans over 29 years. She is currently the Exec Director of Operations at Peaks and Plains Housing Trust, is at First Choice Homes Oldham as an Independent Non Exec, is Vice Chair of the National Housing Federations Building Safety Committee and a Board Member of Manchester Women’s Aid including The Pankhurst Trust. Emma is a qualified Architect and Building Surveyor and also won Woman of the Year at the 2018 Woman in Housing Awards.
Ross Huntingdon, AEW Architects
Ross joined AEW Architects in 2007 and became an Associate Director in 2017. During his career, he has worked across a diverse range of sectors for some of AEW's longest standing clients. More recently, Ross has taken a leading role in the practice's growing portfolio of refurbishment work including Retrofit and Building a Safer Future commissions.
Paul McClelland, JPI Compliance
Paul has over 25 years’ experience in the construction industry with 17 years working as a building inspector across Local Authority and Approved Inspectors services. Paul has specialised in working within the high-rise residential sector undertaking compliance oversight on some of the largest residential schemes in England and Wales. Paul also has practical firefighting experience from working at West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue as a retained fire fighter.
The panel event will be followed by a Q+A session. Light breakfast and refreshments included in the ticket price.
