Mapping Manchester – Study Tour

We all perceive places differently. Come and explore a city within a city and compare your perspective with others.

Placemarque is a Manchester based wayfinding and information design company specialising in developing wayfinding strategies for spaces both inside and outside of buildings. Their user-centric approach encourages visitors to walk a little further and stay a little longer. 

Their services include wayfinding strategy and masterplans, wayfinding and sign design, signage toolkits and digital integration. Quality, user-friendly wayfinding is central to creating successful places, inside and outside, that connect people to place.

Placemarque work with local authorities, developers and institutions to turn masterplans into destinations and to help visitors engage with a place.

This event will start with a talk about how people perceive places followed by a short interactive exercise.

We will then take a guided walk to see part of the city centre and test your perceptions, finishing with a review of the mental maps that the group has drawn along the way.

The morning event includes breakfast pastries & hot drinks.

Members and non-members of all genders are welcome.
