How do we engage communities in transformative change? How can we ensure when working with communities that engagement is effective and joined up?
Join us for an interactive event in BirkenEd’s Place, the pop-up engagement hub and urban room led by PLACED in partnership with Wirral Borough Council in the heart of Birkenhead. You will hear from Cathy Palmer, Head of Regeneration Delivery at Wirral Council and Jo Harrop, Founder and Director of PLACED about the vision for Birkenhead, and the approach to engagement.
The presentations will be followed by an interactive workshop, where you can get creative as part of a design task, to explore some of the challenges involved in involving communities and stakeholders in such a complex framework.
Birkenhead is going through an enormous transformation over a 20-year period, and Wirral Council are committed to enabling local people to shape what happens next in a meaningful way. BirkenEd’s Place brings numerous major regeneration and infrastructure projects, led by multiple design teams, together into a single space to involve people who live and work in Birkenhead in the exciting plans for the town.
Refreshments will be provided.
