Join Women in Property, RaeburnFarquharBowen Landscape Architecture & Urban Design, and Collective Architecture for an insightful event exploring the transformation of Glasgow’s Woodside.
Begin with a vegan buffet lunch catered by Parveens at Civic House, where both RaeburnFarquharBowen and Collective Architecture will give short presentations on recent retrofit and refurbishment projects for Queens Cross Housing Association. Then, head out on a walking tour led by the team to see the completed projects firsthand.
The regeneration of Glasgow’s Woodside multi-storey flats by Collective Architecture addresses fuel poverty while setting a precedent for high-rise retrofitting, and is the largest project of it’s kind in Scotland. Meanwhile, the Woodside Making Places landscape project has created a vibrant, multi-functional green infrastructure network around the towers, enhancing the neighbourhood with renewed pedestrian areas, cycling facilities and routes, biodiverse gardens and street trees, sustainable rainwater drainage, varied opportunities for play and leisure, and edible landscapes.
Don’t miss this opportunity to explore a pioneering approach to urban regeneration, sustainability and community-focused design.
Members and Non-members of all genders are welcome to attend.
