Building safety should be a priority for any building owner and often understanding the requirements of the new Building Safety Act and the expectations of the Building Safety Regulator can be challenging.
Join Women in Property to find out about the Building Safety Act - the aim of this event is to share knowledge and understanding of the BSA.
Featuring guest speaker, Jane Keely, this session offers a unique perspective from someone with extensive experience in both the public and private sector as a Registered Building Inspector. Jane has recently completed a contract with Leeds City Council as part of the Building Safety Regulator’s multidisciplinary teams and also advises Principal Designers through Ebor Mills Consultants, bringing hands-on experience of the Building Safety Act in action.
With a background that includes extensive work as a Building Inspector and time spent directly supporting the Regulator, Jane will shed light on how the legislation is being implemented on the ground, the challenges professionals are encountering, and what this means for everyday practice.
Expect practical insights and the opportunity to ask your own questions in an open, informal Q&A.
Jane will be joined by Niamh Batterton a transactional construction lawyer from Bevan Brittan who will discuss how her team has incorporated the Building Safety Act into building contracts and the issues around delays at Gateways 2 & 3, together with issues with appointing Principal Designers.
Members and Non-Members of all genders are welcome to attend.
