Understanding Disabilities in the Workplace with Diane Lightfoot

Women in Property is delighted to invite you to our online inclusion training series, beginning with our first session, 'Disability in the Workplace,' presented by Diane Lightfoot, CEO of the Business Disability Forum.

Attracting, retaining and developing disabled talent is critical for every business – including the property industry. Diverse teams – that include disabled people – are more innovative, creative and better reflect the diversity of your client base which means better solutions and better property design. But too often, a lack of understanding about disability, misconceptions about cost and fear of saying or doing the wrong thing can mean that companies do nothing – and miss out on a huge pool of talent.

This hour long session will explore:

• What do we mean by disability? (And do you know how many disabled people are already in your workforce?)
• Workplace adjustments – what they are and how to make them.
• Barrier free recruitment and onboarding.
• Creating an inclusive environment.

Led by Diane Lightfoot, CEO of Business Disability Forum, this session will bust some myths and provide you with practical hints and tips to help you attract, support and develop disabled talent. There’ll be time for questions too if there's anything you ever wanted to know about disability inclusion but were too afraid to ask, now's your chance!
