In the first of a series of events at The Newt, we travel back in time to explore The Roman Villa Museum. Inspired by the discovery of ruins of a Roman-British villa that once stood on the estate, Exhibition Manager and archaeologist Ric Weeks will guide us through the ruins of Hadspen Roman Villa.
In June 2022, a 7 year project to preserve, display and reconstruct the Roman villa was unveiled. Behind the expansive reimagining of a Romano-British villa was Architect, Nicola du Pisanie of Stonewood Design.
Joining Nicola and Ric is James Cottle of Synergy and together, they will guide us through the inspiration and challenges that travelling from 351AD to the present day posed throughout this ground-breaking endeavour.
On arrival, we will be treated to tea and coffee in The Glass House accompanied by The Newt’s infamous cinnamon buns.
The Newt have generously offered all guests to this event, a complimentary annual membership worth £68.00.
