About the Event:

This is your last opportunity to explore the historic Castle Cinema before its transformation! The site visit will be guided by Easy Living, providing an insight into the building’s history, future plans, and restoration efforts. You’ll also hear from the client Beacon and architects Spring Design while viewing original features and artifacts.

About the Project:

The Castle Cinema, a Grade II listed building from 1910-1914, is being restored and redeveloped into 30 affordable homes and new commercial units. The building, classified as ‘at risk’ by Swansea Council, is the only one in the area to have survived WWII bombings. The restoration will preserve many of its original features, such as:

• Original ticket booth
• Ornate coving
• Grand staircase
• Historic film artifacts

Important Site Visit Information:

Full PPE is required (Safety boots, hard hat, and high-visibility vest/jacket). The site CANNOT provide these.

No parking on-site – However the site can be accessed by public transport or local pay & display car parks close by (e.g., NCP Orchard Street Swansea).

6-minute walk from Swansea Railway Station
