Join Women in Property South Wales for this event hosted by Wardell Armstrong LLP (a multi-disciplinary consultancy with specialists across a wide range of environmental and engineering disciplines).
During the session, we will discuss the differing approaches between Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) in England and Net Benefits for Biodiversity in Wales. We will outline the principles of BNG, the Statutory BNG Metric and mandatory Biodiversity Gain Plan followed by a more focused review of the practicalities of implementing Net Benefits for Biodiversity.
Additionally, recent planning policy changes have made it a requirement that all new development schemes in Wales are supported by a Green Infrastructure (GI) Statement. There is now a requirement to take a proactive approach to GI covering cross boundary considerations, identifying key outputs of GI Assessments and the submission of proportionate GI Statements with planning applications.
We will also discuss and review the proactive approaches to delivering Net Benefits to Biodiversity as well as well-connected GI with the aim of providing a resilient ecosystem.
Tea, coffee will be served alongside a healthy buffet and pastries.
Members and Non-Members of all genders are welcome to attend.
