Aim
This informative and engaging Masterclass aims to equip the attendees with further knowledge on the perimenopause and the menopause, and how employers can support their staff.
Background
The perimenopause and the menopause affects half of the population at some point and the physical and mental effects can impact their working lives.
Part 1: Let’s talk about the perimenopause and the menopause – how does it affect women (and not only)? With over 30 symptoms attributed to the perimenopause and the menopause, and a variable level of severity and duration, no wonder that this can be a particularly challenging time for any woman.
Part 2: Perimenopause and menopause at work: why should it matter for employees and employers? The average age of the menopause in the UK is 51. There are 3.5 million women workers over the age of 50 in the UK. It has been estimated that around 10% of women actually stop work altogether because of their severe menopausal symptoms.
Attendees will learn what it means to go through the menopause and will get an insight of the potential effects of the perimenopause and the menopause in the workplace.
This event will be held at the London offices of Edwin Coe LLP. Please note this building is not fully accessible.
