Join us for a fun festive workshop at Peacock studio where over the course of a few hours, we will be printing bespoke Christmas cards using screen printing techniques, and letterpress printing text and images. By the end of our session everyone will have made a selection of Christmas cards and prints. The team at Peacock will be on hand with a library of letterpress and printing reference material to inspire you in advance of our workshop.
Whether you’re a familiar face or new to Women in Property, this is the perfect chance to connect, get creative and learn a new skill, and find out more about this historic printmaking studio set in the heart of Aberdeen’s Castlegate.
Ticket price includes festive drinks and nibbles and all materials required for the workshop. In addition, you will take home the package of beautiful personalised handmade cards you design and make during the workshop ready to send to family and friends.
Members and non-members of all genders are welcome to attend.
About Peacock: Peacock is a printmaking workshop in the north east of Scotland, established in 1974. They offer a wide range of artistic techniques, such as relief printing, intaglio, screenprint, lithography, risograph and letterpress. As a charity they are supported by Aberdeen City Council & Creative Scotland.
Nestled in the backstreets of the Castlegate area the workshop can be accessed both via a wide and flat lane off King Street or by the smaller cobbled alleys from the Castlegate itself, which are signposted. The workshop building has 3 storeys and no lift, so disability access is limited to the ground floor, where the majority of services can be provided, including toilets and hand washing facilities. If you have any concerns about accessibility in the workshops or would like more information, please do not hesitate to get in touch with a query.
There is no car parking at the venue, therefore we would recommend public transport or city centre car parks such as Frederick Street Car Park, Bon Accord Car Park, and Gallowgate Car Park
