Site Study: Crumlin Road Gaol, Belfast Transformation

All event fees are listed net of VAT.

Join Women in Property for an exclusive site study at the former Crumlin Road Gaol in Belfast - now home to J&J McConnell’s Whisky Distillery. Don’t miss your chance to explore one of Belfast’s most historic landmarks and discover its incredible transformation which earned them the 2024 CEF Award for Restoration Project of the Year, recognising the outstanding work of building contractors Felix O’Hare.

Experience the dramatic rebirth of a former prison, revitalised through a £22 million renovation. This Grade A listed building, originally constructed in the mid-1800s and left derelict since the 1990s, required strict regulatory compliance and a highly innovative approach to preserve its historic features while adapting the space for a modern distillery.

The A Wing has been ingeniously transformed into a spectacular whisky distillery that celebrates the legacy of McConnell’s Irish Whisky and Belfast’s rich distillation heritage.

We will meet in the Distillery Café ahead of the tour.

All are welcome—members and non-members alike—to join us for this memorable experience.
