From 1 April 2023, properties (subject to some limited exceptions) in England and Wales having an EPC rating below E will be deemed to be "sub-standard", following implementation of new legislation governing the minimum level of energy efficiency – known as the "MEES Regulations".
For the commercial property sector, landlords face being prohibited from granting new leases and continuing to let out properties, while tenants face the risk of increased rent and service charges.
In this breakfast seminar, Head of Real Estate Disputes for England & Wales at Brodies LLP Lucie Barnes, and Head of Sustainability at AG Built Environment Consultancy Gemma Cornwall, will explain the new legislation and how it will apply, sustainable and cost-effective solutions to improve an EPC, as well as resolving a dispute if it goes that way and how to avoid one in the first place.
This seminar is organised by the Lancashire & Cumbria branch of Women in property and members from all regions together with non-members (all genders) are invited to attend.
