First up with an introduction to the role of the new Building Safety Regulator, is Chris Vaughan BEng(Hons) CEng MIStructE MCABE the Managing Director of Approved Inspectors Ltd.
His talk will focus on the changes that are occurring from a Regulator’s perspective. It will discuss the different types of Regulators, their roles and responsibilities, how the system is being levelled regardless of Regulator and will introduce ‘The Operational Standard Rules’ and ‘The Strategic context for the Regulatory Framework’. It will also provide an understanding of the new system of Regulation and will help all involved in the construction process understand their roles and responsibilities.
Chris will be followed by Oliver McEntee, barrister at Kings Chambers with a legal overview of the BSA and what it means for the costs of defective cladding improvement works and liability periods.
There will be an opportunity for questions.
Lunch is included and the event will be hosted at The Borough in Dalton Square, Lancaster.
