Join Women in Property Central Scotland and CIVIC for a guided walking tour of key public realm projects within Glasgow city centre, delivered as part of the Glasgow Avenues programme for Glasgow City Council.
The Avenues programme seeks to transform key routes through the city into high-quality, people-focused public spaces, creating a safer and more connected network for walking, wheeling and cycling. The programme supports economic activity, enhances connectivity across the city centre, increases urban greening through new planting, and incorporates sustainable urban drainage systems to improve surface water management.
The tour will be hosted by Civic, who have led the delivery of Block A of the Avenues programme. Sites visited will include the Argyle Street, Cambridge Street and North Hanover Street Avenues projects. The hosts will outline how the programme vision has been translated into design and delivery, and will reflect on the challenges encountered during both the design and construction phases.
As Block A projects are currently at different stages of implementation, the tour will provide insight into Avenues schemes at pre-construction, construction and post-construction stages.
This is a member only event, however members are warmly encouraged to bring a guest. Non members are welcome to attend as a guest, and we are always keen to welcome new faces to our events. To book a non-member as a guest please complete the invoice request form on this link (please note this is not automated).
Please note that this event includes a walking tour of outdoor sites within Glasgow city centre. Attendees are advised to dress appropriately for the weather and wear suitable footwear, as the tour will go ahead come rain or shine.
