For our first 2023 ‘Special Netwalk’, Terry Levinthal Director of Edinburgh’s leading conservation organisation The Cockburn Society will lead us on a guided walk from the Meadows to the George Square area. The tour will allow us to discuss the commodification and gentrification of civic space including public parks. With all of the Festivals and an events-led tourism strategy, this has been a significant issue in Edinburgh for some time but is also an issue across many other cities.
Meeting Point – The Meadows, Boroughloch Walk Entrance, opposite Victor Hugo’s @ 13.00
The walk will have a maximum of 14 people and spaces will be on a first come first served basis, so please book as soon as you can. All genders, children, pets and friends welcome.
Lunch is not included, so bring a sandwich for lunch or come early and get something in the park.
Registration Deadline: Monday 22 May 2023
