CPD Accredited Site Study – Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh Palm House Conservation Works

Join us at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh (RBGE) to find out about the conservation work in progress to the Category A Listed Palm Houses - an early phase of the £90 million Edinburgh Biomes project.

RIAS Conservation Accredited Project Architect Jamie Bateman, of Smith Scott Mullan Associates, will take us on a tour to see the ongoing specialist conservation work to the cast iron structure and stonework, and will discuss some of the conservation issues that have arisen. All the glass has been removed and the complex scaffold inside and outside will let us get up close to usually unseen details.

The site study will be followed by refreshments and the opportunity to network, kindly sponsored by Gardiner & Theobald.

Please note that full PPE is required for this event:

• hard hat
• hi-vis jacket/ vest
• site boots (not rigger boots)
• gloves
• eye protection (goggles and/or spectacles)

This event is CPD accredited – 2 hours
