Join Women in Property Central Scotland and Edward Dymock of BDP on a fascinating tour of Glasgow Queen Street Station. Edward led the design for the redevelopment of the station, from concept to the completion of detail design, working with the EGIP team and engineering lead, Arup.
We will meet at BDP’s offices for a drink and a pastry, where Edward will take us on the journey of BDP’s role in this iconic building, explain the history of the station, and talk through the key design drivers.
We will then walk to Queen Street Station (approx. 5 minutes walk) to continue the tour, witnessing the dynamic new architecture, which provides an unprecedented and memorable connection between city and rail. We will see how the new design celebrates the site’s heritage, supports the passengers’ choice for low carbon travel, and understand why the station was crowned the nation’s favourite in 2020.
This event is open to members and non-members and all genders are welcome.
