On 8th June 2020 The Association of Women in Property South-West held an event for our members on the topic of managing your mental health during Covid-19. The event was hosted as an online webinar as we all continue to work remotely and from home through the epidemic. There was a great turnout of nearly 60 members from across the UK, as south as Cornwall and as North as Scotland.
The webinar speaker was Louise Hetherington of Atkins, who is a trained Mental Health First Aider and is one of the founding members of the group ‘Constructing Mindsets’. Topics covered included dealing with change, finding your triggers and making a plan in relation to what your different circumstances may be, including working from home, furlough, redundancy, caring for others and living alone. The seminar also helped guide the delegates with how to look out for others mental health around them. The webinar concluded by addressing coping with returning to the office and a useful list of resources to find additional mental health support. The question and answer session was excellent and the engaged audience asked a range of questions from how to deal with managing their own team in this pandemic to how to improve personal productivity and motivation.
The event received excellent feedback and thanks from the audience including, “it was a very interesting presentation, delivered very well for ‘non-specialists’.”
The slides from the presentation can be downloaded here.
We have a variety of future wellbeing and mental health events coming up to help support and develop our members and guests to be prepared personally and professionally over the short and long term.
