Legacy contaminated land sites pose a major environmental and economic issue to development. Historical activities, such as landfilling, can pose human health and environmental risks to a new development, long after these sites have ceased to be used.
Isabella Marshall, Contaminated Land Lead from Mabbett & Associates Ltd, an environmental, health and safety consultancy and engineering firm, will be discussing the common UK-wide factors that need to be considered when assessing sites historically used for landfilling. These include managing risk associated with contaminated land, potential mitigation measures and remedial solutions that could be applied throughout a development project’s lifetime.
There will be an opportunity for questions following the presentation.
