The Association of Women in Property

Winners

The National Student Awards 2011 are now complete.  The regional and national judges were once again hugely impressed by the enthusiasm and commitment expressed by all the candidates whom, each year, make the decision making harder and harder.

In September, ten regional finalists went head to head at the 'Best of Best' Awards Dinner at Claridge's, to determine the national winner.

Congratulations go to Elsie North who is studying Quantity Surveying part time at Kingston University, while working for Faithful+Gould in London.  Elsie said, "I'm really amazed and thrilled.  It was great to reach the national final - but to actually win!  I would like to thank my employers who have been 100% supportive of me, so I'm very happy to give something back.  I also think it's really important to be able to raise awareness to what women in the property and construction industry can achieve so this Award is a great start."

Such was the calibre of the finalists that the judges felt compelled to give two special 'Highly Commended' awards.  These went to Lise-Ann Brennan, studying Architecture at Birmingham Institute of Art and Design and Gillian Steele, studying Architectural Engineering at the University of Cardiff.
