Property Week magazine's Open Plan campaign seeks to tackle diversity in the property and construction industry. It challenges businesses and organisations to rethink their policies, both overt and unconscious, from graduate recruitment right through to the Boardroom and including gender, ethnicity, disability and sexual orientation.
WiP is right behind Property Week. We were involved in early stage discussions with them, about the need to address issues of diversity and we discussed a 'Manifesto' of targets for change, targets which they developed, published and which have since been followed by a Charter.
We are very optimistic about the impact this campaign is having on the industry, perhaps encouraging some to think through the issues seriously for the first time and for others, to continue with the good work they had already started.
