Attractive Salary and Package
The University of Glasgow has ambitious plans for the expansion of the Gilmorehill campus and by 2025 will have invested over £1bn, transforming the campus and supporting the University's ambition to be a world changing University. A fundamental strand of our wider plan, reflecting our intent to radically enhance the student experience, support staff and improve the experience of visitors to the University, is the provision of high quality commercial services.
These services are the daily window for students, staff and visitors into the operation of the University and it is essential that we develop a customer centric culture that delivers value and income, supporting our academic vision and strategic objectives, as well as making a strong financial contribution. Reporting to the Executive Director for Estates and Commercial Services, you will lead provision in catering, conferencing, car parking and student accommodation, with sport, print services and university retail also potentially incorporated into this area.
This new position requires a leader who can develop a strategy for the delivery of the University's commercial activities, including income generation and diversification that involves increasing revenue from a variety of sources. All of which must be carried out in the context of a knowledge led environment and the University's strategic plan. Candidates will possess substantial commercial experience at a senior level in the private or public sectors with a demonstrable track record in the delivery of relevant services through large teams. Evidence of a strong customer-service ethos, and a commitment to champion a service culture are essential as the department meets the diverse needs of our customers and enhances the overall student experience.
