AWARDS
Women in Property National Student Awards search
for leading students across the UK
A Northumbria University student
has been named as the leading property student of the year by
industry organisation, the Association of Women in Property.
Kimia Benam studying Architecture, triumphed over other Yorkshire
& North East region contenders at the regional stage of the
Awards.
Kimia Benam will represent the
region when she goes through to the national 'Best of the Best'
final in September, at Claridge's.
Vicki Ingleby, Chairman of the
Yorkshire & North East branch, said: "Kimia has done really
well to get to this stage. These Awards seek out the best
students in the eyes of our local Universities and then put them in
front of a judging panel made up of some of the region's leading
industry figures - that's no mean feat. She is clearly very
talented and a great role model for young women considering a
career in property and construction."
The judging panel included Jean
Dent, Director of City Development at Leeds City Council, Paul
Salmon of Byrne Brothers, Nick Ffoulkes of Carey Jones and the
Sonja MacGregor, North East satellite Branch Chair Women in
Property and Owner of Convey with Me.
- Some of the judges comments were:
- 'Excellent, natural, passionate, ambitious'
- 'Ambitious' and 'aware'
- 'very lively and enthusiastic'
- 'determined'
- 'clear direction of where she is going'
