The University of Aberdeen's Queen Mother Library,
Aberdeen
Thursday 29 September 2011 5:30 PM
The North of Scotland Women in Property branch had a super visit
to The University of Aberdeen's new Library on Thursday 29th
September. Nearly 40 members and guests were given the benefit of
an illuminating presentation by Angus Donaldson, the University's
Director of Estates, in a stunning seminar room on the 7th floor of
the Schmidt Hammer Lassen designed glass box which has been
intriguing the city for the last few months. Angus gave us all some
insight into the University's estate background and plans for the
future.
Chris Banks told us how it all worked in the real world of
Librarianship, enthused us with her passion for the place, and then
three teams were given a guided tour round the break out areas,
teaching rooms, trading room, meetings rooms, oh, and books!
Students at AU will not know what has hit them when they enter
the less well provided real world.
