16 members attended Central Scotland's most recent mentoring
programme training session at the offices of Anderson Strathern in
Edinburgh on 21 September 2011, and travelling from as far afield
as Aberdeen and Fort William! This brings our total participants to
just over 30. New joiners will now be matched to prospective
mentors and mentees and will begin to reap the benefits of the
scheme, including assistance with personal career development,
confidence and skills building, breaking through the glass ceiling
and dealing with difficulties in the workplace. Central Scotland
will run another training session in March 2012, which will again
be facilitated by Sandi RhysJones OBE. If you would like to
participate, please download the application form for the programme
and email to Gillian Murray, Central Scotland branch's Mentoring
Coordinator.
Participants in the mentoring programme should look out for
announcements regarding a proposed series of peer mentoring circle
events in Central Scotland, where attendees will share experiences
and support on specific topics including the transition from
associate to partner/director/owner, support for those taking
professional qualifications, business finance, raising one's
personal profile within an organisation, and dealing with difficult
senior colleagues.
Please note, the mentoring programme is a members-only
benefit.
